Whether you’re planning ahead or navigating on the night, there are many ways to access and enjoy Nuit Blanche. Admission is free and open to everyone, including all projects, exhibitions, venues, performances, installations, talks and tours.
Please note, some services, including specific accommodations or assistive technologies, may require advance notice to arrange.
Access Terms & Symbols
Nuit Blanche maps use a set of symbols identifying the access features and the following definitions:
- ASL Interpretation: on-site American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters available
- Audio Description: this project provides audio description, offering narrated details of visual elements
- Open Captions: this project includes visible captions for all spoken content or audio components
- Tactile Elements Included: tactile elements designed to be touched and explored
- Wheelchair Accessible: step-free access and barrier-free routes.

How to filter by access feature:
- Visit the All Projects webpage
- Click + Filter Results, which is below the search bar
- Click Select Accessibility and select desired access term from the dropdown menu.
Printed Map
Printed maps are available on-site at Event Centres while supplies last. This format is designed for readability and include key access symbols.
Whether in-person at North York Central Library, lower level, or online via livestream, enjoy the night at the Nuit Blanche Remote Access Hub, developed in collaboration with Tangled Art + Disability.
Part of the Collective Composition exhibition, the hub offers live audio description, ASL interpretation and collective access strategies, connecting you to projects across the city. Visit in-person to gather with friends, rest, listen to music, stim or simply enjoy a quieter environment.
Translation
Website
You can browse and view information on the City of Toronto website in more than 130 languages using the built-in translation tool (Google Translate). Please note, descriptions of projects, talks, tours and workshops are not available in translation.
How to use:
- Scroll to the bottom of any webpage and click Translate
- Select your preferred language from the dropdown menu
- The website will reload in the selected language.

Call 311 to get information about the event in more than 180 languages.
Multilingual Volunteers
Throughout the night, look for volunteers wearing buttons indicating which languages they speak. They can assist with basic translation and navigation.
American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation
Look for the ASL icon on the printed map and on-site signage to identify ASL interpretation.
ASL interpretation is offered at:
- The Nuit Blanche Remote Access Hub for conversation and performance elements
- All Event Centres
- Translating the City: A Midday Gathering on September 21.
ASL interpretation is available by request at all workshops. See workshop details for request contact and deadlines.

Low-Sensory Experiences
Many projects are ideal for low-sensory engagement from 4 to 7 a.m., when crowds are smaller and the pace is more relaxed.

Accredited service animals, including guide dogs and those in training, are welcome at all event locations.
Connect with a volunteer in a white high-visibility vest. Volunteers specially trained to support accessibility needs wear a flag on their vests.
For help in languages other than English, ask or look for volunteers wearing buttons indicating the languages they speak.
All volunteers can assist with:
- Finding accessible viewing areas
- Guiding tactile and sensory-based interactions
- Reading on-site didactics or project descriptions
- Offering directions and general wayfinding.
