The Planning phase of the change journey is focused on understanding stakeholder needs, engaging them through communications and other change activities, building change networks and assessing readiness for change. This is done through:

  • Identifying key people or groups that will need to be engaged, analyzing their needs and planning appropriate engagement activities.
  • Creating communication and engagement activities that are two-way where possible to move individuals to the appropriate level of commitment.
  • Assessing and describing what the change means to stakeholders impacted by the transformation, including new skills and behaviours required.
