My Business Licence & Permit Account

Starting January 19, the City is making it easier for you to access information about your business licence or permit. Watch the video below to learn how to set up and link your Business Licence & Permit Account and then get started.

You can use our licensing services payments lookup tool to pay your licence or permit renewal.

Your Business Licence & Permit Account will allow you to log in and review your personal, business and licence/permit details. You can also renew your business licence/permit and download after renewal.

The login process for existing business licensees has changed. Follow the steps below to use your City of Toronto login and access your account.

Create your City of Toronto Login

Getting Started

To create an account, you will need your client number and email address. This will link your business licence to your account so you can renew your licence online.

Your client number is available on the licence renewal notices issued by the City.

You will also need to have a City of Toronto login

If you do not have a City of Toronto login yet, follow Step 1 below to create it. Then follow Step 2 to link your Business Licence and Permit account.
If you currently have a My Child Care Account, you already have a City of Toronto login. Click “Log in to your Business Licence & Permit Account” above and follow Step 2 in the next section to link to your account.

Step 1: Create your City of Toronto Login

Click “Log in to Business Licence and Permit Account” above. Then select “Create a Login”.
Enter your email address and create a username and password.
Follow the instructions on screen to verify your email with a one-time PIN.
On the “Select Your Service” screen, select “Business Permits & Licences”.
Log in with the username and password you just created.

Link Your Business Licence and Permit Account

After creating your City of Toronto Login, you will need to link it to your business licence and permit account

Step 2: Link your Business License & Permit Account

Enter your Client Number. This helps us verify your identity and email you an Access Code. Most clients will receive an Access Code immediately. If we need more information, we will guide you through the next best options.
Enter the Access Code. You can now access your account.

After you have completed these steps, you can access your Business Licence & Permit Account anytime with your City of Toronto login.

If you have forgotten your City of Toronto Login username or password:

Click “Log in to Business Licence and Permit Account” above.
Select the “Forgot Username” or “Forgot Password” options and follow the steps.

Personal Client Number

If you do not know your personal client number, please refer to your licence renewal notice. See sample below:

Your personal client number should be in the format:

456-123-789

Your personal client number should be nine (9) digits

Access Code

If you did not receive the access code in your email, check the junk/spam folder.

Try resending it by hitting the ‘Resend Code’ button’, waiting a few minutes and then check your email including your junk/spam folder.

If the access code is not working, ensure that you have copied or entered the access code correctly. The access code is 8 characters in length.
