Roadmap to Reopen

The Province of Ontario announced a three-step roadmap to reopen the province, which will allow the reopening of outdoor recreation amenities in stages.

Step 1

The Province will announce when Toronto will enter Step 1. Permits for organizations interested in training will be issued first. Step 1 allows team sports training only. Game play and scrimmages are not permitted during Step 1.

Staff have been reaching out to all permit holders to confirm interest in operating this season. After the City of Toronto moves into Step 1, it may take up to five business days for the receipt of permits.

Organizations that would prefer to cancel or postpone their 2021 season without penalty are asked to contact 416-396-7378, option 2.

Step 2

The Province will announce when Toronto will enter Step 2. Staff will issue seasonal permits for Step 2 activities, which are anticipated to include sport league play.

Sport groups wishing to train in Step 1 and play games in Step 2 will receive permits for the full season. Only the activities allowed under provincial regulation will be authorized and groups will be asked to sign the terms and conditions on the permit and adhere to all regulations and Toronto Public Health guidelines

Setting Up Your Booking Account

All new seasonal/league applications must complete a Permit Account application in addition to any other forms.

Free permits are available for private businesses to offer outdoor fitness classes, yoga and martial arts. Permits apply from June 14 through to October 3, 2021.

Permits:

  • are available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • allow a maximum of 10 participants, including an instructor
  • are for greenspaces in parks

Permit holders must comply with gathering limits and rules regarding amplified sound.
