Stormwater Management Projects

Many projects have been implemented to help manage stormwater and improve the water quality in local waterways, including Lake Ontario. This includes the Mandatory Downspout Disconnection Program, new infrastructure such as stormwater ponds, tanks and tunnels, and municipal operations such as catch basin cleaning and outfall monitoring.

Don River and Central Waterfront Wet Weather Flow System & Connected Projects

This is the largest and most significant water quality improvement program in the City. Over the next 25 years, Toronto will deliver this program which is comprised of a number of substantial infrastructure projects that will significantly improve the water quality in the Lower Don River, Taylor-Massey Creek and the Inner Harbour.
