H1N1 Vaccination
Toronto Public Health has closed the H1N1 vaccine clinics. Vaccine continues to be available at many doctors' offices, clinics and community health centres. Toronto Public Health has distributed over one million doses of vaccine to other health care providers, including physicians, hospitals and long-term care facilities.

Clinics will be held in January in order to provide another opportunity for the general public to get both seasonal and H1N1 vaccines. Visit Toronto Public Health for more information.

Scarborough Seniors Advocacy Project
Thank you to everyone for their contribution and support to make the Scarborough Seniors Advocacy Project -Mandarin workshop at St. Paul's L'Amoreaux Centre a success. We had 54 seniors in attendance. They have actively participated and made a lot of recommendations to the Toronto Seniors' Forum and we all learned a lot. Also, special thanks to City of Toronto, Toronto Seniors Forum, Ryerson University and all the members from Chinese subgroup committee.

* * Toronto Seniors Assembly
Before the Toronto Seniors Forum, the Toronto Seniors' Assembly was established to provide an opportunity for the City to better inform seniors of City initiatives and help shape issues within the City from a critical seniors' perspective. The Toronto Seniors Forum now takes on this role.

In March 1998, City Council adopted the terms of reference for the "Task Force to Develop a Strategy for Issues of Concern to the Elderly." The Seniors' Task Force, comprised of seven members of Toronto City Council and 17 citizens, submitted its final report in September 1999.
Mayor's Roundtable on Seniors
