Toronto Seniors Assembly
Before the Toronto Seniors Forum, the Toronto Seniors' Assembly was established to provide an opportunity for the City to better inform seniors of City initiatives and help shape issues within the City from a critical seniors' perspective. The Toronto Seniors Forum now takes on this role.
Toronto Seniors Task Force
In March 1998, City Council adopted the terms of reference for the "Task Force to Develop a Strategy for Issues of Concern to the Elderly" The Seniors' Task Force, comprised of seven members of Toronto City Council and 17 citizens, submitted its final report in September 1999.
Mayor's Roundtable on Seniors
Mayor's Roundtable on Seniors was established to advise the Mayor and City Council on a civic strategy that will engage seniors in the actions and investments of Council and the Mayor with respect to policies, programs and services to support the quality of life for seniors in the City of Toronto. The roundtable was established for the 2003-2006 term of Council and concluded at the end of term.
