To help residents in apartments, condos and co-ops (with nine or more units) collect and properly dispose of their Blue Bin recycling and Green Bin organics, the City provides free in-unit containers. To be eligible for the program, buildings must receive City garbage collection service.

Important Information

  • Requests for in-unit containers must come from the building owner or property manager.
  • For first time orders only (i.e. you have not previously ordered containers for your building), buildings are eligible to receive an in-unit container for each unit in the building, plus an additional 10 per cent of the total number of units for replacements.
  • Every year, buildings are eligible to receive an additional 10 per cent of the total number of units in the building for replacements.
