Through the Transit Expansion Construction Mitigation Grant Program, Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) and business associations are eligible to receive funding for community-driven initiatives that mitigate the impacts of construction on local businesses.
The program provides funding to local business communities significantly impacted by transit expansion projects, assisting BIAs and other organizations in their efforts to implement effective, innovative and creative solutions to local business challenges posed by sustained major construction. The program goals are to:
Grants are available in increments of $10,000, $25,000 or $50,000 for projects that meet eligibility requirements.
The Transit Expansion Construction Mitigation Grant Program is available to the following organizations:
Please note: For profit businesses including sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations are not eligible to apply.
BIAs and not-for-profit organizations are eligible for grants of up to $50,000 for a range of initiatives, such as:
Projects must support businesses impacted by major transit construction, including the Eglinton Crosstown, Finch West LRT, Ontario Line, Scarborough Subway Extension or Yonge North Subway Extension.
