The Yonge-Eglinton area – commonly referred to as Midtown – has been experiencing rapid growth. The City Planning Division, at the direction of City Council, is undertaking a review of the zoning in the Midtown area and leading the advancement of a series of related infrastructure strategies. The zoning review will align and update existing zoning to reflect the City’s Official Plan and provincial policy. It will address land use, building heights and other matters that shape development and buildings. The infrastructure strategies will assist the City in securing and delivering local infrastructure and public realm improvements to support continued growth. They will also inform the use of holding provisions in the Midtown area.
