  • Participation in Civic Decision Making: Develop a community services plan to increase access, coordination, and investment in community services for Rockcliffe-Smythe residents
  • Physical Surroundings: Create a beautification plan for Rockcliffe-Smythe spaces exploring opportunities for street-scaping, murals, art installations, gardens and green spaces
  • Economic Opportunities: Explore opportunities with local businesses and employment service providers to increase opportunity/access to employment for Rockcliffe-Smythe residents
  • Social Development: Establish a communication plan to increase information sharing between residents, service providers, business, and government
  • Healthy Lives: Create a health and well-being plan to address concerns identified by local stakeholders —including community safety and environmental health

Black Creek Alliance, Black Creek East Discovery Walk: A guided trail walk through our community’s green space where local groups and individuals will share information about the area. This family-friendly activity offered a nature scavenger hunt for children. At one stop along the route the groups had a brainstorming and envisioning session of the possibilities for the area. This BBQ is for the Birds (Bird House Build & Barbecue): Residents joined together to build bird houses, clear brush, and enjoy the trails along the Black Creek and Lavender
Creek area. There was music, a food truck, photo booth, face painting, prizes and giveaways. Informative
educational sessions about the native birds to the Black Creek Area, were presented as residents built and decorated bird houses to for placing along the creeks.

Pollinator Festival: Lavender Creek Pollinator Festival animated the area to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere on a trail that has historically been abandoned and stigmatized.
