Two virtual community engagement sessions were held with Councillor Thompson and City staff to provide additional information about the proposed project and answer questions.
Housing with supports is a combination of deeply affordable housing and on-site supports that enable people to live as independently as possible. Homes First is the housing and support services provider at 39 Dundalk Dr. With nearly 40 years of experience, Homes First provides homes and essential support services to nearly 2,000 seniors, families and single adults in Toronto. Homes First operates long-term supportive housing sites, large-scale emergency shelters and essential support services for all populations, focusing on people with history of homelessness, and with mental health and addiction challenges.
The City was committed to working with the local community throughout every stage of development, encouraging neighbours to share their interests and priorities for the site, provide feedback on building and site design elements, and offer suggestions for how these new homes could benefit the residents and the neighbourhood.
