The number of people actively experiencing homelessness in Toronto continues to grow. New homes with supports are urgently needed to ensure everyone has a safe place to call home. Learn more about why supportive housing is so important from the people who live and work there by watching this video.

To respond to this urgent need, the City has constructed a five-storey modular housing building at 39 Dundalk Dr., formerly 7 Glamorgan Ave. The building has:

  • 57 self-contained, fully furnished studio homes, including 20 barrier-free homes, each with a private kitchen and bathroom
  • common areas, including a laundry facility, commercial kitchen and dining room
  • program space and administrative offices
  • on-site 24/7 supports and staffing available to support residents

About supportive housing (or housing with support services)

Housing with supports is a combination of deeply affordable housing and on-site supports that enable people to live as independently as possible. Supportive housing can help people stabilize their lives, help them stay housed and positively contribute to communities.

Learn more about supportive housing.

There is no application process or waitlist for this building. Tenants for these homes will be identified using a prioritization-based approach to connect people experiencing homelessness to this permanent housing opportunity. The City and Homes First will coordinate the tenant identification process in partnership with street outreach, shelter, 24-hour respite and hotel/motel program providers.

If you are in need of housing, call 311 or go to Finding Housing.

Housing provider

The City has completed its selection process for a housing and support services provider at 39 Dundalk Drive, and has selected Homes First.

With nearly 40 years of experience in the field, Homes First provides homes and essential support services to nearly 2,000 seniors, families and single adults in Toronto. Homes First operates long-term supportive housing sites, large-scale emergency shelters and essential support services for all populations, focusing on people with long histories of homelessness, and with mental health and substance use challenges.

Working with neighbours toward a successful project

The City is committed to working with the local community throughout every stage of development and has encouraged neighbours to share their interests and priorities for the site, provide feedback on building and site design elements such as lighting, pathways and landscaping, and offer suggestions for how these new homes could benefit the residents and the neighbourhood.
