November 23, 2021

At 8 a.m. this morning, more than 20,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments went live in the provincial booking system for five to 11 year-old children in Toronto.

All Toronto children, regardless of their neighbourhood, who are turning five years old by the end of 2021 (born in 2016) are eligible to book an appointment. Appointments can be booked by visiting the City of Toronto COVID-19 page and clicking the blue button or by calling the provincial vaccine booking line at 1-833-943-3900. Learn more and book here.

The Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty COVID-19 vaccine for five to 11 year-olds will be administered at Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Woodbine Mall, Scarborough Town Centre, Cloverdale Mall and Mitchell Field Arena.

Parents and guardians seeking to vaccinate their child have a number of vaccination opportunities available across the city. These opportunities include clinics run by Team Toronto hospital or health care partners, at local pharmacies and through participating primary care providers or pediatricians. A full list of COVID-19 vaccination clinic options for five to 11 year-olds can be found online here.

Team Toronto also continues to prepare to roll out school-based COVID-19 mobile vaccination clinics beginning this week. In preparation, a letter from Toronto Public Health was sent to all Toronto school boards yesterday outlining resources to prepare children for vaccination, how to book appointments, upcoming education sessions, vaccine facts and community resources.

If parents have questions about the vaccine, Toronto Public Health encourages them to reach out to a trusted health professional such as their family doctor or paediatrician. More information can be found on the City’s COVID-19: Children & Vaccines page.
