Team Toronto COVID-19 vaccination update

The City of Toronto is working with its healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 826,914 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

The Team Toronto effort is focused on getting as many residents vaccinated as quickly as possible based on available supply.

People born in 1961 or earlier, and age 50 or older who live in hot spot neighbourhoods as identified by postal code, can book vaccination appointments online or by phone at City-run COVID-19 immunization clinics. Following last week’s provincial announcement, the Team Toronto approach is shifting further towards vaccinating essential workers where they live – in areas where there are high COVID-19 case counts. Hospital and healthcare partners have clinics up and running and are vaccinating residents in hot spot neighbourhoods as vaccine supply allows.

As of yesterday evening, approximately 287,449 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. A small number of appointments are available for the next two weeks. Eligible residents are encouraged to book an appointment through the dark blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 with the added option of booking by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488. The City and healthcare partners are working to operate a total of approximately 34 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site clinics, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.

City of Toronto immunization clinics

• Yesterday, held nine City-operated immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre, Mitchell Field Arena, The Hangar, Cloverdale Mall, North Toronto Memorial Community Centre and Carmine Stefano Community Centre.
•  Vaccinated approximately 7,912 eligible residents.
•  Today, will vaccinate up to approximately 8,050 people born in 1961 or earlier and people age 50 or older who live in hot spot neighbourhoods as identified by postal code. People without appointments should not attend a City-run immunization clinic.

Unity Health Toronto

• Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and two mobile outreach clinics.
• Vaccinated 1,320 people who are priority hospital and community based healthcare workers, local pharmacy staff, local dentists and their staff, select inpatients, homebound adults, individuals living in congregate settings, members of the Indigenous community, shelter staff, transplant recipients and those receiving active cancer treatment, individuals with specific high-risk health conditions and people age 50 years and older in hot spot neighbourhoods.
• Today, will hold three on-site clinics and two mobile outreach clinics.
• Will vaccinate 1,390 people belonging to the same groups.

University Health Network

• Yesterday, held four on-site clinics and two mobile clinics.
• Vaccinated 2,239 people who are healthcare workers and students, long-term care workers, essential caregivers, patients with priority health conditions,  Indigenous adults and community members age 60 years and older at the on-site clinics.
• Vaccinated 334 individuals living in congregate settings and essential workers at the mobile clinics.
• Today, will hold four on-site clinics and three mobile clinics.
• Will vaccinate 2,569 people who are healthcare workers and students, long-term care workers, essential caregivers, patients with priority health conditions,  Indigenous adults, community members age 60 years and older, and individuals living in congregate settings and shelters.

Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners

• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic, one pop-up clinic, and a primary care clinic.
• Vaccinated 245 people who are community members 60 years and older, Indigenous adults, and individuals with highest and high-risk conditions and their essential caregivers.
• Today, will hold one primary care clinic and deploy three mobile teams.
• Will vaccinate 386 people who are community members 60 years and older, individuals with highest and high-risk conditions and their essential caregivers, and individuals living in congregate settings.

• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and three mobile clinics.
• Vaccinated 1,405 people who are healthcare workers, individuals eligible under Phase 2, and residents age 40 years and older in hot spot neighbourhoods.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic and two mobile clinics.
• Will vaccinate 1,709 people belonging to the same groups.

• Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
• Vaccinated 1,950 people who are hospital healthcare workers, patients and community members age 60 years and older at the on-site clinics.
• Vaccinated approximately 313 people who are long-term care residents and staff, individuals 65 years and older living in congregate settings and people living in shelters at the mobile clinic.
• Today, will hold two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
• Will vaccinate approximately 2,007 people who are hospital healthcare workers, individuals living in shelters and community members age 60 years and older.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and an off-site community clinic in partnership with Baycrest.
• Vaccinated 1,300 people who are residents age 60 years and older, Indigenous adults, adults who receive home care, hospital staff, people with highest and high-risk conditions and their caregivers, and people age 50 years and older in hot spot neighbourhoods.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic and an off-site clinic.
• Will vaccinate approximately 1300 people belonging to the same groups.

CAMH

• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic.
• Vaccinated 336 people who are adults self-identifying as First Nations, Inuit or Métis age 16 and older, healthcare workers in high priority risk groups, faith leaders, individuals living in high-risk congregate settings, staff and essential caregivers, people age 50 years and older in hot spot neighbourhoods, and individuals with specific health conditions and their essential caregivers.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
• Will vaccinate 375 people belonging to the same groups.

The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.
