Solid Waste Management Services is a rate-based program where residents pay fees for the services they receive and encourages households to divert garbage from landfills.
On December 16, 17 and 18, 2025, the City Council approved a 3.75 per cent interim rate increase effective January 1, 2026. The interim rates may be amended by City Council when the 2026 Rate Supported Operating and Capital Budgets are approved on February 10, 2026.
