Short Histories of Toronto
Don't miss these two exhibits featured on the Virtual Museum of Canada:
Bendale: About Place
 |
|
This project invokes the rich history of Bendale, a neighbourhood located in Toronto's northeast end and the site of Scarborough's first farm fields. Through the voices, images and documents of the community, this exhibit details Bendale's remarkable transformation from rural crossroads to multicultural suburban centre. |
Virtual Museum - Bendale: About Place
Curated by Madelaine Callaghan, Curator, Scarborough Historical Museum.
Twentieth-Century Todmorden: A Community in the Don Valley
Todmorden Mills Heritage Museum and Arts Centre
 |
|
This virtual exhibit captures some of the recollections of those who lived, worked and played in the Valley.
Twentieth Century Todmorden: A Community in the Don Valley is not a comprehensive record but reflects the voices of long-time residents as well as documents and photographs collected by the Todmorden Mills Heritage Museum and Arts Centre, now operated by the City of Toronto. |

Spadina, Toronto's grand historic house museum, displays an interesting collection of such carpets.
