We'll feature community projects, Green Toronto Award winners, local food advocates, wildlife enthusiasts and more.

Brad Hubley, Entomologist at the ROM, will entertain you with interesting images, facts and insights about the spiders that call Toronto home. Bring your curiosity and your questions about these fascinating 8-legged creatures. Spiders of Toronto is one of illustrated booklets in the City of Toronto's Biodiversity Series. The series was created to help Toronto residents appreciate the wildlife that inhabits Toronto and learn how they can help protect biodiversity. Join us to learn more.

Bob Yukich of the Toronto Entomologists' Association will share his love of these delicate creatures and introduce you to Butterflies of Toronto, one of the illustrated booklets in the City of Toronto's Biodiversity Series. The series was created to help residents appreciate the wildlife that inhabits Toronto and take action to protect it.

Tom Mason, Curator with the Toronto Zoo will entertain you with interesting facts, images and insights. Bring your curiosity and your questions. Wednesday, October 24: Emerald Ash Borer and Toronto’s Urban Forest
Speaker: Melissa Williams, LEAF (Local Enhancement & Appreciation of Forests)
Toronto's urban forest has a structural value of $7.2 billion and provides more than $60 million in ecological benefits each year. The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) will have a major impact our urban forest as it affects Toronto's 860,000 ash trees. Find out what's at stake as Melissa Williams of LEAF explores Toronto's tree canopy and the many benefits it provides. Learn how to identify ash trees, the signs of Emerald Ash Borer infestation, and how you can build a healthier and more resilient urban forest in your community.
