Green Roof Bylaw

In 2009, Toronto became the first City in North America to adopt a bylaw that requires and governs the construction of green roofs on new developments. The bylaw applies to all new building permit application made as of January 31, 2010.

Eco-Roof Incentive Program

Financial incentives are available to help install green and cool roofs on Toronto’s commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.
