Community Animators
Live Green Toronto's Community Animation program ended on November 30, 2011
The Live Green Toronto Community Animation program, which was managed on behalf of the City of Toronto by two external organizations, ended when our contracts with the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, Canada (ACORN Canada) and EcoSpark expired.
Implemented projects
Here are some examples of projects that the Community Animators helped community groups with:
- Planting community gardens
- Implementing water conservation programs
- Launching natural food buying clubs
- Community tree planting projects
- Building roof-top gardens
- Creating home energy efficiency programs
- Implementing programs that encourage communities to drive less
- Exploring community-based renewable energy system options
- Greening apartments and condo buildings
