On June 16, 2021, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the City and Councillor Joe Cressy will host a virtual community consultation meeting to present concepts and gather feedback on plans to build new waterfront public open space on the Canada Malting property, located in the Bathurst Quay neighbourhood.

Join to hear a presentation from the project’s landscape architects PFS Studio, and to receive a status update from City staff on other phases of the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Plan project, including: planned rehabilitation of the heritage-designated Canada Malting silos; a recently completed water’s edge promenade; streetscape improvements on Eireann Quay; and the transformation of an existing office building into a new waterfront centre for arts and culture.

Following the presentation, meeting facilitators will guide attendees through moderated ‘break-out’ room discussions in order to record your feedback on the concepts presented.

On September 9, 2020, City staff provided the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Association a complete status update on the various improvement projects being delivered as part of the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Plan.

On November 28, 2016, the City and Councillor Joe Cressy hosted a Community Consultation Meeting that provided an update on the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Plan including ongoing work in relation to a Streetscape and Public Realm Plan for the neighbourhood and a Facilities Needs Assessment for the Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre.

On December 15, 2015, the City and Councillor Joe Cressy hosted an Open House that provided an update on the progress of the study, an opportunity to learn more about the emerging directions for the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Plan, ask questions and share your comments. The City held a Community Workshop on April 22, 2015 to present and test alternatives, concept plans, and explore materials for the Neighbourhood Plan.

City Planning held workshops with the students from the Waterfront School and City School. Children were encouraged to get involved in the Neighbourhood Plan and participate in the, “If I were a City Planner” interactive workshops.

City Planning held an Open House with the youth from the Harbourfront Community Centre.

City Planning staff held meetings in February and March 2015 with residents in each of the residential buildings within the neighbourhood to discuss the study ideas and vision for the neighbourhood, and have focused discussions about opportunities and challenges within the neighbourhood.

City Planning held an Open House and Information Session to kick off the Bathurst Quay Neighbourhood Plan Study on Wednesday December 10, 2014 at the Harbourfront Community Centre and Waterfront School.
