The City of Toronto gathered input on actions under consideration for the next Action Plan of the TransformTO Net Zero Strategy, the City of Toronto’s community-wide climate strategy. The Net Zero Strategy has a target of net zero greenhouse gas emissions, community-wide, by 2040. The next Action Plan for the Strategy will cover the period 2026 to 2030, including the interim target of a 65 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 (from the 1990 baseline).
The City conducted previous public consultations between 2016 and 2021 to inform the development of TransformTO and the first Action Plan. The November 2024 to January 2025 public consultation process asked for input from residents to learn more about actions they are taking, actions they are interested in taking, barriers they are facing and supports to help them overcome those barriers. The process included an online survey, pop-up events, group discussions and webinars. For more background information and resources on TransformTO, please visit the Reports and Resources page.
