Toronto Parking Authority Board of Directors
The Toronto Parking Authority (TPA) is a City Board that operates municipal off-street parking facilities and on-street metered parking in the City of Toronto. The TPA generates annual gross revenues of over $113 million. There are a total of 37,700 off-street parking spaces in 213 off-street facilities generating close to $68 million annually, plus some 18,600 on-street metered parking spaces generating in excess of $50 million in net income annually.
While 25 percent of the income generated by the TPA is retained by the TPA to fund its capital development program; the remaining 75 percent is transferred to the City of Toronto's general revenue coffers.
The TPA is governed by the Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 179, Parking Authority (PDF).
Board responsibility
The board of directors is responsible for supervising the business and affairs of the Authority, including overseeing the implementation of corporate strategy by management and the investment of the Authority's capital reserve.
Term of office
Four years.
Composition
5 public citizen members and 2 Members of City Council appointed by City Council (CA9.5). In addition, the General Manager of Transportation Services is an ex officio non-voting Member of the Board.
Meetings
The board meets monthly or at the call of the Chair.
