CampsToronto's Historic Sites present day camps, workshops and drop-ins for young people during the Festive Season, March Break and the Summer. These activities provide enriching entertainment while allowing children to creatively explore Toronto's history.

Gibson House P.A. Day Adventures
For ages 7 to 11
Friday, June 7, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sign your child up for a day filled with crafts, cooking, games and more!
Lunch is provided. Pre-registration and pre-payment required.
$30 plus tax per child.
Extended care is available 8-9 a.m. and 4:30-5:30 p.m.
$10 plus tax for AM or PM, $15 plus tax for both.

Super Fun P.A. Day Camp
For Ages 5 to 12
Friday, June 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Scarborough Museum is the boredom buster for P.A. days! Bake over the open hearth, make crafts, play games, and explore Thomson Memorial Park. Lunch is included. $32.30 per child. Pre-register online or call 416-338-4FUN. Course code: 2205862. Extended care is available for an additional fee.

High Park Junior Discovery Camp
Tuesday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Children 5 to 6 years are introduced to a camp environment during this half-day program based at Colborne Lodge in High Park. Children enjoy crafts, games, nature activities, a visit to the High Park Zoo and Jamie Bell Adventure Playground, and cooking historic recipes inside Colborne Lodge.
$70 per week.

High Park Discovery Camp
Monday to Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
July 8 to 12
July 15 to 19

Campers experience the many natural and historic wonders of High Park. Indoor and outdoor explorations include crafts, lawn games, nature activities, hikes to park attractions, swimming in the High Park Pool, and cooking historic recipes inside Colborne Lodge. One or two week options, call the Lodge for more information. Pre-registration required. $175 per week.
After hours care available until 5:30 p.m., $13 per week

Gibson House Summer Day Camps

Campers’ imaginations and creative energies lead the way on a journey to discover life in Willow Dale in 1851. Join us for fun-filled days of hands-on activities designed and led by our team of year-round educators.

  • Camps are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • All camps are $160 per week. Extended care is available.
  • Extended care Fees:
    • Mornings from 8 to 9 a.m.: $20 per week
    • Afternoons from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: $20 per week
    • Both mornings and afternoons: $35 per week

A Week at Aunt Eliza's

If you were a member of the Gibson family, who would you be? Through storytelling, crafts, role-playing and discovery, campers learn about the daily life of children circa 1850. Cooking treats in the kitchen each day completes the experience. Campers need to have celebrated their 6th Birthday to attend.

Discover the Past, Look to the Future!
July 15 to 19

Campers become history detectives to learn about the Gibson family and their community by examining artifacts, documents and historic recipes. Through art, cooking, storytelling and drama, campers will imagine an alternate future for Willowdale.

July 22 to 26

Inspired by the Gibsons - created by you! Explore 19th-century craftsmanship and design. Campers discover their talents with weaving, stitching, painting, drama and more. Creative hands also cook in the historic kitchen each day.

Ages 12 to 14
Gibson House Scholars
August 12 to 16

A youth camp with a historical twist! You'll learn the art of cooking in an historic kitchen, try advanced Victorian crafts and some behind-the-scenes museum work. Have fun as you discover how the Gibsons helped to shape Upper Canada and their community of Willow Dale.

The Farmer, the Baker and the Toymaker
August 19 to 23

Become a 19th-century tradesperson for a week! Make toys and play games inspired by Victorian childhood favourites. Campers enjoy an intensive baking experience in the historic kitchen and learn about farm life in the 1850s.

Acting is INN! Summer Drama Camp
Monday to Friday, August 19 to 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Humber River Shakespeare Company, in partnership with Montgomery's Inn, lead this exciting summer camp.Participants experience the joy of acting in the great outdoors with qualified artist-educators who lead improvisation, script writing, directing, and performance activities.

Adventures in Archaeology Camp
July 2 to 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Give your children the rare and exciting experience of being part of an actual archaeological dig. They’ll learn to excavate, analyze and record artifacts and work alongside professionals. Past participants have uncovered artifacts dating from the 19th century. The program includes field trips and games. Book early because spaces are limited!
9 days: $360 ($45 extra for extended care 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Spadina Safari Camp - Mornings
July 8 to 12, 9 a.m. to Noon
and Aug. 26 to 30, 9 a.m. to Noon

A small camp of only 15 participants ensures every child has a positive and personal experience. Children explore a new and different theme each morning. They play games, tell stories, create great art projects, and enjoy hands-on activities like cooking in the historic kitchen, hunting for treasure in the garden and dress up play. Each morning, kids show their parents what they’ve done at camp with a fun performance.
$90 for 5 mornings.

Ages 8 to 12
Spadina Art & Drama Camp
July 15 to 26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
August 12 to 23, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Young people are introduced to exciting visual art media, including sculpture, painting and drawing. They learn about theatre by acting, singing and collaborating with one another. Participants are encouraged to think, create and express themselves - and have a great time doing it all! The session culminates in a final performance for family and friends.
10 days: $350 ($50 extra for extended care 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Ages 8 to 12
Movie Making Camp
July 29 to August 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The 1920s and 30s marked the beginning of the film age and campers in this program will explore the medium as it emerged. They will work together to create their own master piece, which will be screened at the end of the week and each camper will get their own, digital copy, of the film.
5 days: $175 ($25 extra for extended care, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Todmorden Time Travellers

Explore a world before computers, phones or televisions! Make a thaumatrope, explore the great outdoors and bake tasty treats in our 19th-century kitchen.  Plants and animals in our preserve are just some of the things that inspire the week's crafts and activities.
$250 per week. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required.
Extended care: 4 to 5 p.m. $10 per day and $1 per minute after 5 p.m.

Ages 5 to 8
Urban Wilds
August 12 to 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Take a walk on the wild side!  The city is home to many beasts, birds and bugs.  Learn which thrive in our urban environments.  Use clay, paints and paper mache to create art and works inspired by their homes and habitats.
$250 per week. Pre-registration and pre-payment is required.
Extended care: 4 to 5 p.m. $10 per day and $1 per minute after 5 p.m.
