  • Colborne Lodge: (12 to 5 p.m.) Take a tour of the restored 19th-century home of John and Jemima Howard, the founders of Toronto's best known park. Take a stroll around the grounds and enjoy the recreated Howard gardens. Tours begin at noon and run every half hour on the half hour (except for the last tour, which starts at 4:15 p.m.). Limited free parking.

  • Fort York: (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) Considered the birthplace of urban Toronto, Fort York was established in 1793. Visitors will tour Canada's largest collection of original War of 1812 buildings and the exhibits that explore Toronto's military history. The popular children's drill workshop will be offered – it's fun to take part in and fun for parents to watch! Enjoy strolling the site's lovely green space. Free parking.

  • Mackenzie House: (12 to 5 p.m.) Tour the last home of Toronto's first mayor. Try your hand at using the vintage printing press (circa 1845). Take in the exhibit "Toronto's Tumultuous Year: William Lyon Mackenzie as Mayor," which explores the ups and downs of that eventful year for the city. Paid parking in the area.

  • Montgomery's Inn: On Saturday, from 12 to 4:30 p.m. , don't miss the engaging Early Music Fair, presented by City of Toronto, Montgomery's Inn, in partnership with the Toronto Early Music Centre. Throughout the Inn you will see period concerts and demonstrations. Browse the displays of CDs and sheet music. On Sunday, (1 to 5 p.m.) visitors will enjoy traditional hospitality at this historic stone inn and tours that bring history alive. Both days visit the Tea Room (open 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.) and treat yourself to a cup of tea and dessert ($5 plus tax). Free parking.

  • Scarborough Museum: (12 to 5 p.m.) Visitors will experience what life was like in the 1800s with demonstrations and scavenger hunts. Enjoy visiting the past in this lovely Thomson Memorial Park setting. Free admission and free parking.

  • Todmorden Mills Heritage Site: (12 to 4 p.m.) Community and emerging artists' work will be on display in the Papermill Gallery.
