City Cider at Spadina Museum
Sunday, September 16, 12 to 4 p.m.
Spadina Museum in partnership with Not Far From the Tree present this fall harvest event. Not Far From the Tree will demonstrate proper heritage apple picking methods and press apples from the Spadina Orchard into cider for serving. There will be children's activities, music, and tours of the historic gardens led by Spadina Museum's heritage gardeners. Experiment with silhouettes, a popular craft of the War of 1812 era, honouring this year's War of 1812 Bicenntennial. Admission is $5 per person over 12 yrs. Free for children 12 and under. Includes admission to the historic house.
Harvest Festival at Todmorden Mills Heritage Site

Celebrate the harvest season in the valley. Enjoy musicians, historic cooking demonstrations, tastings and more! Admission is pay-what-you-can.
High Park Harvest Festival at Colborne Lodge
Sunday, September 30, 12 to 4:30 p.m.
Enjoy the harvest in High Park with food, crafts, music, horse and wagon rides, warm apple cider and more. Held at the south end of High Park at Colborne Lodge and the Children’s Garden. Free admission to grounds, activity and merchandise fees apply. To tour inside Colborne Lodge it’s pay-what-you-can!
Make Bread and Flavoured Butters at Todmorden Mills Heritage Site
Part of the Cast Iron Chef Historic Cooking Workshop Series (Suitable for ages 8 and up)

Churn your own home-made butters flavoured with herbs from our historic garden. Enjoy them with home-baked scones and biscuits baked on our open hearth. Pre-registration is required. Adults: $20; Children: $15 (plus tax).
At Home for the Harvest at Gibson House Museum
Saturday, Sunday & Monday, October 6 to 8, Noon to 5 pm
Visit us on Thanksgiving weekend for a celebration of the harvest. Spend some time in the busy historic kitchen of the Gibson family farm home and see the harvest foods being prepared for tasting. Children can help lend a hand in the kitchen, dress-up in the Discovery Gallery and enjoy hands-on activities. Regular admission applies.
Kith, Kin and Kimchi at Gibson House Museum
Saturday, October 20, Noon to 5 p.m.
Join us as we celebrate the traditions of two communities: the 1850s Willow Dale settlement and North York's vibrant Korean neighbourhood. See (and taste) how the two cultures approach preserving and learn about Korea's signature dish, Kimchi. This year we are featuring the work of two Korean artists. Children are encouraged to contribute to a wall of public work using pencil and paper to explore the themes happiness and hope, which will add to the exhibit Living in Today by artist Joung-Yoon Lee. In her exhibit she explores one's relationship to the past, present and future and the questions: are you happy, joyful and full of hope? Also featured in the Museum are textile works by another guest artist from Korea, Jung-Hee Rhee.
Kimchi and Pickle Making Workshop at Gibson House Museum
Sunday, October 21, 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Join Kimchi expert, Bong-Ja Lee, to learn traditional Korean preserving. Compare these methods with Mrs. Gibson’s historic pantry pickling. Explore the science and flavours of these two preserving traditions. Take home a container of Kimchi and a jar of Mrs Gibson's pickles. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $25 plus tax.
