Community Celebration Support Fund Events
The City of Toronto, with support from the Toronto Arts Council, is investing $1.7 million in local community celebrations in summer 2026 during the FIFA World Cup 2026™ that celebrate Toronto’s host city theme, “The World in a City.” A variety of projects will turn areas throughout the city into vibrant hubs of activity during the tournament.

Resources and guidance are available to help you plan a community event or initiative in time for the tournament:

- Guidance for Planning Events: a comprehensive list of topics, reference materials, required forms and best practices for hosting a successful event. Many permits require eight to 10 weeks lead time to be issued.
- Special Events Permit Navigator: build a customized list of the permits and approvals you need, who to contact, key deadlines and associated fees, if any.
- Promote your event: submit your event for consideration to the City of Toronto’s Events Calendar and to Destination Toronto's Events Calendar.
