Ward 6 Etobicoke-Lakeshore

Former City Councillor Irene JonesIrene Jones was first elected to the Etobicoke Council in 1988. Always active in the community, Irene chaired the Etobicoke Board of Health and community grants program. Since amalgamation, Irene served on the Wet Weather Flow Management Master Plan, the TRCA, the Environmental Task Force, the Mimico Linear Park study as well as many local and city-wide committees. Irene was named the City's First Water Advocate in 2001 and in that position worked to keep our water in public control.

After 15 years of devoted work, Irene left public life in November 2003.
