Mayor, Reeve and Chairman
Mayor is a term used for a person that is elected by the people of a city, town or municipality. Mayors were elected for a three-year term, but in 2004 terms were changed to four years. A reeve is a person elected by the people of a township or village. A reeve may also be a representative of a town or county council. A Chairman is an administrative officer of an organization or politican body.
Councillor, Alderman and Alderwoman
A councillor is an elected district (or ward) representative to City Council. An Alderman or Alderwoman is usually an elected representative to a Borough government.
