Toronto is the 9th most high tech city in the world according to Business Insider. Toronto houses 30% of all IT firms in Canada, majority of these companies having 50 or less employees. Currently, Toronto’s firms bring $52 billion in yearly revenue. This is expected to grow over the next decade. Business Insider consulted with 2thinknow, a research firm, to perform the ranking. The ranking was based on 10 technological advancement measures; such as, number of patents filed per capita, level of smartphone use and other innovations databases.
