The City does not salt all pedestrian bridges because many of these bridges are located in environmentally sensitive areas.

The following pedestrian bridges receive both salting and plowing services from Transportation Services.  Transportation Services also provides maintenance services on the pedestrian bridges listed below. If you wish to report any of these issues, a service request can be submitted online at:

  • Graffiti removal
  • Litter/debris removal
  • Cleaning
  • Damage to bridge
  • Surface repair
  • Falling debris

Ward 9:

  • Wallace Ave. Footbridge

Ward 10:

  • Garrison Crossing
  • Puente de Luz Bridge

Ward 11:

  • MacLennan Ave. Pedestrian Bridge
  • Heath St. Bridge

Ward 12:

  • Kay Gardner Trail Bridge (Yonge & Merton)
  • Glen Cedar Rd. Bridge

Ward 13:

  • Dale Ave. Bridge

Ward 14: 

  • Pape & Gerrard Bridge

Ward 15:

  • Heath St. Bridge

Ward 16:

  • Chipping Rd. to Three Valleys Dr.

Ward 17: 

  • Goldenwood Pineway Pedestrian Bridge

Ward 20:

  • Prairie Dr. / Byng Bridge
  • North Woodrow Pedestrian Bridge

Ward 21:

  • Tara Bridge

Service requests will be accepted if salting operations have been completed and it is at least 16 hours after the end of a storm.  Service requests for maintenance requests are available online at: https://www.toronto.ca/311 .

Bridges not on the above list may be maintained by other property owners.  Pedestrian bridges located in parks that have winter maintenance are maintained by Parks staff.  Pedestrian bridges may also be maintained by TTC, Apartment/Condo property management if these bridges lead to that property.
