Toronto Elections saw a total of 2,227 eligible electors vote during the by-election’s advance vote, which ran continuously for three days from Friday, January 8 to Sunday, January 10.
The following is a breakdown of the advance vote turnout by day:

Saturday, January 9 – 688
Sunday, January 10 – 858
Mail-in ballots
Registration to Vote by Mail closed on January 4 and, in total, 4,082 mail-in voting requests were approved and mailed to voters. As of January 7, the total number of mail-in ballots tabulated is 1,280.

The deadline for completed Mail-in Voting packages to be received by Toronto Elections is 6 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2021.
Election Day — Friday, January 15
Voting places will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on January 15, at locations across Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt. On election night, unofficial results will be posted in real-time starting after 8 p.m. on the Election Services website .
Voters are reminded to bring identification showing their name and qualifying Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt address and their Voter Information Card (or download it to their smartphone) when they go to vote. A full list of acceptable identification is available on the Toronto Elections website
Making the by-election safe for everyone
Toronto Elections, in consultation with Toronto Public Health, has developed health and safety measures to keep voting safe, while enabling Ward 22 to elect a representative. The measures include health screening, reduced touch points, physical distancing, occupancy standards and specialized health and safety positions in all voting places.

Electors are reminded to wear a mask in the voting place, and to stay home if they are not feeling well or experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms.

Any electors who did not receive a Voter Information Card, or who are not on the voters’ list, can be added to the voters’ list at the voting place.
Third-party advertiser registration closes Thursday, January 14
The Municipal Elections Act, 1996 requires that individuals, corporations and trade unions who plan to spend money promoting, supporting or opposing a candidate in the Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election first register as a third-party advertiser with the City Clerk.
Registration closes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021. A Notice of Registration must be filed in person, by appointment only, at the Election Services Office, 89 Northline Rd.
The City Clerk must certify the registration before a third-party advertiser can spend money on their campaign, accept contributions or begin advertising. Registered third-party advertisers must identify themselves on advertisements and comply with requirements under the Act.
