Toronto Fire Services and the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association today announced a partnership agreement by which Wounded Warriors Canada will work with the City of Toronto to offer innovative mental health programs and services to firefighters and their families. Group and family therapy is a specialty of Wounded Warriors Canada, including the option of animal-assisted therapy.
“The programs offered through Wounded Warriors Canada will provide our staff with additional options for finding the quickest path to wellness,” said Deputy Chief Tony Bavota, Toronto Fire Services.
“We are proud to partner with Toronto Fire Services and the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association and look forward to doing our part to support their members and their families in times of need,” said Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada.
“The mental health and well-being of each and every one of our members is of utmost importance to us,” said Frank Ramagnano, President of the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association. “We’re pleased to partner with and support Wounded Warriors Canada to provide additional resources to assist our members should they ever need them.”
Wounded Warriors Canada was created to support ill and injured armed forces members, veterans and first responders, including their families. The organization, a privately funded charity, delivers programs and services across Canada.
