New Year’s Eve 2019 celebrations will take place at Nathan Phillips Square (100 Queen St. W.) on Monday, December 31. The countdown to 2019 will begin with a DJ Skating Party sponsored by Tim Hortons at 8 p.m., followed by live musical performances starting at 9 p.m. and fireworks at midnight. Media logistics note: A media area will be available on the ramp to the City Hall podium roof next to the Christmas tree. Media must arrange for artist and spokesperson interviews in advance through the media contacts listed below. Members of the media are advised to arrive by 6 p.m. to set up.

The City of Toronto is committed to presenting an accessible event. An accessible viewing area and a sign-language interpreter will be provided onsite.

For those travelling downtown on New Year’s Eve, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is offering free travel from 7 p.m. on December 31 to 7 a.m. on January 1. More information about the holiday schedule is available at http://www.ttc.ca. Service on Toronto-area GO Transit trains will also be free for New Year’s Eve riders starting at 7 p.m.
