The City of Toronto and its vaccination partners have now administered more than 900,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Toronto is the first local health region in Canada to deliver more than 900,000 vaccine doses. The City is working with its healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Heath to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines.
To date, 907,070 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.
The Team Toronto effort is focused on getting as many residents vaccinated as quickly as possible based on available supply.
People born in 1961 or earlier, and age 50 or older who live in hot spot neighbourhoods as identified by postal code, can book vaccination appointments online or by phone at City-run COVID-19 immunization clinics. The City, Toronto Pubic Health and healthcare partners continue to work closely on expanding mobile vaccination efforts across Toronto to bring vaccine to the neighbourhoods most in need.
This past Saturday, a team comprised of community ambassadors, volunteers and clinical teams from across the city, formed a pop-up clinic on the basketball courts at 15 Tobermory Drive and vaccinated 1,352 residents in the M3N postal code area. The team included:
Mobile teams continued efforts at 15 Tobermory Drive on Sunday. Clinics in Parkway Forest led by the North York Toronto Health Partners and in Crescent Town led by East Toronto Health Partners also took place over the weekend.
As of yesterday evening, approximately 298,362 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. A small number of appointments are available for the next two weeks. Eligible residents are encouraged to book an appointment through the dark blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 with the added option of booking by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488. The City and healthcare partners are working to operate a total of approximately 18 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site clinics, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework. The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.
