The City of Toronto is working to complete a missing connection in the popular Waterfront Trail. To improve pedestrian and cycling safety, a new 200 metre segment of separated trail and sidewalk is being constructed along the south side of Kingston Road between Lakehurst Drive and Glen Everest Road.
The design for this section includes a 3 metre wide boulevard asphalt multi-use trail with an adjacent concrete sidewalk separating the facility from motor vehicle travel. Paint and signage will be utilized at conflict points to help guide trail users and provide enhanced visibility.
The majority of construction began in October 2020 and has extended into 2021. In April 2021, the City will resume the installation of the multi-use trail and the remainder of the work is expected to be complete in May 2021.
