Toronto participates in performance measurement and reporting initiatives to identify where we are doing well and where we need to improve. Our participation continues to strengthen the City's accountability and enhances transparency in how we report performance of our services.

In addition to performance measurement, this site also includes information related to economic and social indicators, international rankings, and achievements, awards and accolades.

Toronto's 2011 Performance Measurement & Benchmarking Report

Total Taxes Paid ($42,823) in 2012 by Average Ontario Family (by Level of Government)  Provincial 36.6% Federal 54.5% Municipal 8.9%

The average Toronto family with two incomes pays the vast majority of their taxes, in all forms, to the Provincial and Federal Governments. Only 8.9 percent of their taxes are paid to the City of Toronto, which is used to provide a wide range of services that are vital to the day-to-day lives of citizens.

Toronto is one of the most liveable and competitive cities in the world as demonstrated by various international rankings and reports. In addition to securing its position on the world stage, Toronto's rankings confirm that it continues to offer a high quality of life for about 2.7 million residents who choose to live and work here.

Wellbeing Toronto

Wellbeing Toronto is a new web-based indicator and information tool that helps evaluate community wellbeing across Toronto's 140 neighbourhoods providing facts that will assist in monitoring our city's economic and social wellbeing.
