Where does the water come from?
One of four City water treatment plants, Island takes raw water from Lake Ontario, then cleans, disinfects and converts it into sate potable (drinking) water for final pumping into the City’s distribution system.
Deep Lake Water Cooling
Island also plays a major role in the Deep Lake Water Cooling project, partnership between the City of Toronto and Enwave District Energy Limited.
