Examples of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and proper disposal options are available on Household Hazardous Waste – City of Toronto.
The City of Toronto only accepts hazardous waste from residents/households, including from property managers and building staff from multi-residential buildings, NOT from industrial, commercial or institutional (IC&I) sources. IC&I establishments must contact a private waste company for disposal of hazardous waste.
There are limits on the amount of HHW that can be dropped off at Drop-Off Depots per day, which are indicated here: Items Accepted at Drop-Off Depots. These limits also apply to drop-off of HHW at Community Environment Days .
HHW Reuse Centres, where residents are able to take usable paint and some other HHW products set aside for reuse, are suspended until further notice.
The City of Toronto also offers collection for residential waste customers. See info regarding Toxic Taxi Pickup here
