Deputy Mayor Michael Thompson (Ward 21 Scarborough Centre), Chair of the Economic and Community Development Committee, will present the annual Partnership to Advance Youth Employment (PAYE) Leadership Award at Wednesday’s meeting of the Committee.

PAYE is a joint initiative between private sector employers, the City of Toronto and a network of community-based agencies committed to connecting youth (18 to 29 years) to employment, training and education, networking and mentoring opportunities. PAYE has successfully connected thousands of youth to employment, and with Mayor Tory’s support, the City has more than doubled the number of employer partners.

Date:  Wednesday, October 16
Time:  9:30 a.m.
Location: Committee Room 1, City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

The PAYE Leadership Award recognizes individuals and organizations for their outstanding leadership, innovation and dedication to youth employment and local workforce development.

This is the fifth year that a PAYE champion will be recognized with the Leadership Award.
