Toronto Fire Services Chief Matthew Pegg will welcome the newest group of firefighters to the City of Toronto at a ceremony tomorrow afternoon.

Date: Friday, December 13
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: Toronto Fire and Paramedic Services Training Centre, 895 Eastern Ave.

The ceremony recognizes the successful completion of comprehensive training and will see the recruits join Toronto Fire Services Operations. The new firefighters will graduate from the Toronto Fire Academy with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) professional qualifications in both fire prevention and public education.

The introduction of NFPA fire prevention and public education professional qualifications in the Operations Division and the comprehensive operations-based fire code inspection program are key components of the TFS Transformation Plan introduced in 2017. These initiatives leverage expertise and capacity in the Operations Division and enhance fire protection service levels across the city.
