News Release
June 11, 2021

This morning, Mayor John Tory announced that Team Toronto has administered more than 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses. To date, 2,517,765 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto. Toronto is the first local health region in Canada to administer more than 2.5 million vaccine doses.

As of yesterday evening, approximately 769,377 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-operated clinic. Vaccinations at City clinics are by appointment only and walk-in clients cannot be accommodated.

On Monday, June 14 at 8 a.m. the City will open more than 60,000 additional bookings for vaccination appointments between June 14 and July 4 at City-run immunization clinics. Including these new appointments, the City will now be able to provide approximately 180,000 vaccinations at its clinics over this three-week period.

Anyone who cannot attend a scheduled appointment is urged to cancel or reschedule. This allows others to book an available appointment and ensures that the City and healthcare partners can vaccinate the maximum number of people every day as quickly as possible.

Everyone age 12 years or older is encouraged to book a first dose appointment as soon as possible by clicking the blue “Book a Vaccine” button at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or through phone by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.

Currently, bookings for accelerated second dose appointments are available for people 70 years of age and older, anyone who received a first Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine dose on or before April 18 and anyone who received a first AstraZeneca vaccine dose more than 12 weeks ago. At 8 a.m. on Monday, June 14, all Toronto residents, regardless of neighbourhood, who and received a first dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine on May 9 or earlier will be eligible to book their accelerated second dose appointment in the provincial booking system.
