News Release
July 31, 2021

The City continues to work non-stop with its healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 4,320,309 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto as part of the broader Team Toronto initiative.

Total COVID-19 vaccine doses: 4,320,309

Increase from previous total: 12,838

Number of clinics across Toronto today: 36

Everyone age 12 years or older is encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

First dose vaccinations at City-operated clinics are by walk-in only. All nine City-run clinics are offering walk-in vaccinations for anyone age 12 and older needing a first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine: www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-protect-yourself-others/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated/?accordion=city-immunization-clinics. Clinics are open to walk-ins every day from noon to 7 p.m.

Second dose appointments are available by walk-in, and can also be booked by anyone, including youth ages 12 to 17, who received a first Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least 28 days ago or a first AstraZeneca vaccine at least eight weeks ago. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button at www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or call the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.

Anyone who has an appointment for later this summer or fall is encouraged to change it to an earlier date and get vaccinated sooner. Appointments at City-run clinics can be cancelled or changed at https://vaccine.covaxonbooking.ca/manage or by calling the provincial booking line.

A second dose of vaccine is the best protection against the COVID-19 Delta variant (B.1.617.2) that is more infectious than other strains of the virus. Recent studies have shown that two weeks after the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, a person’s protection against the Delta variant is 50 per cent higher than one dose alone.
