The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 549,185 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

This morning at 8 a.m., the City expanded COVID-19 vaccine availability to individuals born in 1961 and earlier. Torontonians aged 60 or older can now book vaccination appointments online or by phone for City-run COVID-19 immunization clinics and some health partner clinics.

The City is currently vaccinating residents born in 1961 and earlier at five of the City-operated mass immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Arena. On Monday, April 5, a City-operated clinic at The Hangar will open.

As of this morning, approximately 80,591 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. There are many appointments still available this holiday weekend. Eligible residents are encouraged to book an appointment through the dark blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 with the added option of booking by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488. The City and healthcare partners are working to operate approximately 17 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site clinics, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.

City of Toronto immunization clinics

  • Yesterday, held five clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Arena.
  • Vaccinated approximately 4,458 eligible seniors.
  • Today, will vaccinate up to approximately 6,300 people born in 1961 or earlier. Only those with confirmed appointments will be vaccinated. People without appointments should not attend a City’s immunization clinic.

Unity Health Toronto

  • Yesterday, held three on-site clinics at St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre and Providence Healthcare and two mobile clinics.
  • Vaccinated 1,860 people who are priority hospital and community based healthcare workers, local pharmacy staff, local dentists and their staff, individuals 70 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings, members of the Indigenous community and shelter staff.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics.
  • Will vaccinate 1,440 people belonging to the same groups as well as transplant recipients and those receiving active cancer treatment, individuals with specific high-risk health conditions and people 50 years and older in high risk areas.

University Health Network

  • Yesterday, held four on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
  • Vaccinated 1,754 people who are healthcare workers and students, individuals 70 years and older, long-term care staff and essential caregivers, and patients and community members with high-risk chronic health conditions at the on-site clinics.
  • Vaccinated 350 individuals living in congregate settings at the mobile clinic.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
  • Will vaccinate 620 people who are healthcare workers and students, individuals 70 years and older, patients, and long-term care staff and essential caregivers at the on-site clinics.
  • Will vaccinate 280 individuals living in congregate settings at the mobile clinic.

Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners

  • Yesterday, held three on-site clinics (Thorncliffe Park Community Hub, Jimmie Simpson and MGH), one primary care clinic and a pop-up clinic, and deploy a mobile team.
  • Vaccinated 2,257 people who are healthcare workers, Indigenous adults, individuals who receive home care, faith leaders, community members 70 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings, individuals living in shelters or experiencing homelessness, and residents 50 years and older in priority neighbourhoods.
  • Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
  • Will vaccinate 120 people who are community members 70 years and older, individuals living in shelters or experiencing homelessness, and individuals who receive home care.

Humber River Hospital and North Western Toronto Ontario Health Team

  • Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and three mobile clinics.
  • Vaccinated 1,170 people who are healthcare workers, individuals eligible under Phase 2, and residents 50 years and older in priority neighbourhoods.
  • Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
  • Will vaccinate 691 people belonging to the same groups.

North York General Hospital – North York Toronto Health Partners

  • Yesterday, held two on-site clinics.
  • Vaccinated 1,596 who are hospital healthcare workers, patients and community members 70 years and older.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 1,596 people who are hospital healthcare workers, individuals living in shelters and community members 70 years and older.

Scarborough Health Network

  • Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and two pop-up clinics.
  • Vaccinated 2,000 people who are healthcare workers, residents 70 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 1,900 people who are healthcare workers and residents 70 years and older.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

  • Yesterday, held one on-site clinic.
  • Vaccinated 1,100 people who are residents 70 years and older, Indigenous adults, adults who receive home care, healthcare workers and hospital staff.
  • Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 1,000 people belonging to the same groups.

CAMH

  • Yesterday, held one on-site clinic.
  • Vaccinated approximately 252 people who are hospital healthcare workers in priority risk groups, community members 70 years and older, Indigenous adults and faith leaders.

Participating pharmacies in Toronto

  • Toronto Public Health can confirm that as of yesterday morning, 111,562 people aged 60 and older received the Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine at participating pharmacies in Toronto since the provincial pilot began.
  • An update on the number of vaccinations in Toronto pharmacies will be provided on Tuesdays and Fridays as information is made available twice a week.

The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.
