As of this morning, the City of Toronto has expanded COVID-19 vaccine availability to individuals born in 1961 and earlier. Torontonians aged 60 or older are now eligible to make vaccination appointments online or by phone for City-run COVID-19 immunization clinics and some health partner clinics. Appointments at some City-run clinics are still available for today and throughout this holiday weekend.
The City is urging everyone who is eligible to receive a vaccine under the provincial prioritization framework to book an appointment. More than half a million vaccines have already been administered in Toronto by the City and all its healthcare partners.
With COVID-19 and its variants of concern rising in Toronto, it is more important than ever to get vaccinated to protect yourself, your family and your community. If you are not yet eligible to receive a vaccine, people are encouraged to help those who are eligible to book an appointment.
Individuals age 60 or older in 2021 can book appointments through the dark blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or book by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488 (TTY 1-866-797-0007). The mass immunization clinic at the East York Town Centre at 45 Overlea Blvd., operated in partnership with East Toronto Health Partners, is also accepting bookings for people age 60 and older. Maps, travel directions, accessibility information and pictures are available online for each clinic, including details about parking.
The City-operated clinics are part of a vaccination network that includes four additional City-operated clinics opening soon and hundreds of clinics operated by health sector partners including hospitals and pharmacies. Those over age 55 are also eligible to be vaccinated at some pharmacies starting tomorrow. Toronto residents born in 1961 or earlier who want to be vaccinated at a participating hospital-based clinic can view their options and book through hospital-based booking systems listed at www.vaccineto.ca or by calling 1-888-385-1910.
