Online Inspection Requests allow Sign/Building Permit holders to request, cancel or re-schedule an inspection. Inspections are carried out Monday to Friday during regular business hours.

Whenever a Sign Permit and the associated Designated Structure building permit is issued, one or more inspections are required to be carried out prior to the closure of the permits.

For Ground Signs:

  • A footing/foundation inspection request is required to be submitted when the excavation has been completed. The inspection is to be carried out prior to the placement of concrete.
  • A final inspection request is required to be submitted upon completion of the work to install the sign(s) authorized under the permit.
  • Except where a professional engineer’s report is required to be provided as per OBC Division C, an installer’s report is required at the completion of the work to install the sign(s) authorized under permit.

For Wall Signs:

  • A final inspection request is required to be submitted upon completion of the work to install the sign(s) authorized under the permit.
  • Except where a professional engineer’s report is required to be provided as per OBC Division C, an installer’s report is required at the completion of the work to install the sign(s) authorized under permit.

All other sign types:

  • A final inspection request is required to be submitted upon completion of the work to install the sign(s) authorized under the permit.
  • Except where a professional engineer’s report is required to be provided as per OBC Division C, an installer’s report is required at the completion of the work to install the sign(s) authorized under permit.
