* Toronto City Council enacts new zoning bylaw
At its meeting of August 25 - 27, Toronto City Council enacted a new, single, city-wide zoning bylaw. By-law No. 1156-2010 to enact a new Zoning By-law for the City of Toronto with links to the PDF version of the by-law text will be available on the Clerk's website in the next 2 days. A draft of the by-law is available on the Bills Index.

    A reference paper copy of the enacted zoning by-law is available on the 12th Floor, West Tower. If you have any questions, please call the Zoning Project at: 416-392-0194.

The interactive zoning maps and text will be available over the coming weeks. As a result, the link "http://map.toronto.ca/imapit/iMapIt.jsp?app=ZONING_R0" to the July 29, 2010 draft zoning by-law has been removed.

* * The decision of the Planning and Growth Management Committee regarding zoning by-law is available on the City Clerk's website here (item PG40.10). The Committee held the statutory public meeting for the zoning by-law at its meeting on August 19, 2010.


Black-line comparison
A black-line comparison between the July 29, 2010 and May 27, 2010 versions of the draft Zoning By-law will not be produced. The formatting changes made to the July 29th version renders the black-line comparison not useful. Please look at the staff report dated August 5, 2010 on the Planning and Growth Management agenda for the explanation of the changes made to the May 27, 2010 version of the by-law.

Planning and Growth Management Committee meeting - May 19, 2010
This latest staff report outlines further changes and refinements to draft new Zoning Bylaw that have resulted from the direction of the Committee at the meeting of April 21, 2010 and further input from stakeholders and other interested parties. These changes will be incorporated in the final draft of the new Zoning Bylaw that will be prepared for the Statutory Open House on May 27, 2010 and brought back to the Committee for final consideration at its meeting to be held on June 16, 2010. The Committee adopted the report as amended (item PG 38.3).

Planning and Growth Management Committee meeting April 21, 2010
The Committee adopted The Covering report to the revised draft of the new zoning by-law - April 2010 with amendments. The report explains all the major changes made to draft that was released in May 2009.


Planning and Growth Management Committee meeting March 2010
The committee received the staff report that provided an update on the progress toward resolving outstanding issues enunciated during the consultation process is before the March 8, 2010 meeting of the Planning and Growth Management Committee. Go to item PG.36.3. for the Committee's decision.

November 4, 2009 report on public consultation
Public comments have been collected on the draft zoning bylaw since its release in May 2009. Comments are collected through the on-line feature on the interactive maps and text, as well as comments made at the Open Houses and Planning and Growth Management meetings held in June and September in each of the Districts. A staff report on the results of the public consultation was on the agenda of the Planning and Growth Management Committee November 4, 2009 meeting. The decision of the Committee can be accessed here (item PG33.5).
