Saturday, June 7, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Join us for the World Environment Day Picnic at Christie Pits Park. Enjoy live music by local artists, food vendors using reusable dishware, eco-friendly pop-ups, fun family activities, a tree giveaway and more.

World Environment Day is a global call to action that encourages communities, organizations and governments to come together to adopt sustainable practices and create innovative solutions that will drive change for a healthier planet.

This year’s theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” encourages people to rethink how we use and dispose of plastic. Plastic has reached every corner of the Earth — from city streets and green spaces to oceans, rivers and even inside our bodies in the form of microplastics.

As the North American host city for World Environment Day and a leader in circular innovation, urban forest management and environmental sustainability, the City of Toronto is hosting a World Environment Day Picnic to highlight how actions like refusing single-use plastics, reducing waste and repurposing materials can make a real impact.

Together we can build a greener, cleaner and more sustainable Toronto for generations to come.

Enjoy a variety of eco-friendly activities, vendors and exhibitors.
