The City of Toronto offers a wide range of science and technology programs that allow for all kinds of fun experiments and activities. From learning about geography to enhancing your computer skills, there is a wide variety of fun programs for participants of all ages to explore.

Registered activities are instructor-led programs offered as a group of multiple classes over several weeks.

Science: Building Discovery Explore scientific concepts and understandings beyond the basics through fun and exciting activities and experiments. Learn the foundations of building design, physics and weights and measures and put them into practice, constructing various objects using tools and materials. Science: Scientific Adventures Stories, activities, and fun and exciting experiments teach basic science knowledge and skills, while hands-on play and the use of your imagination will help you to explore science mysteries. Early Years
Science: Scientific Discovery Learn about scientific theories and concepts and how to conduct experiments. Get answers about the world around you and build on basics by exploring chemical reactions, flight dynamics, cellular mechanics, and the inner workings of the human body. Early Years
Technology: Computer Lab Provides access to computers and various computer programs you can explore and experiment with. Computer programs vary by lab. There is no formal instruction, and participants of any level can join at any time. Child, Youth, Adult, Older Adult
Technology: Computers Designed for beginners, this introduction to computers focuses on how to use a device with confidence. Learn basic computer skills like navigation, how to create an email, access the web, create documents, and more.

Technology: Computers, Laptop - Intermediate Continue to explore basics while learning how to navigate popular websites like Facebook and Instagram.

Technology: Computers, Smartphones Designed for users of various skill and competency levels, you will learn how to navigate and use your smartphone, including texting and engaging on social media.

Drop-in activities offer an opportunity for participants to take part in a non-instructional activity at their convenience. No registration is required.

Drop-in Activities

Computer Lab is offered in drop-in format. 

Enhanced Youth Spaces are supervised spaces for youth between the ages of 13 and 24, offering a variety of drop-in science and technology activities. For more information, please visit the Youth and Recreation page. 

“With Caregiver” Activities

Some activities are offered “With Caregiver” option. These activities will be listed with “With Caregiver” in their title.  For all “With Caregiver” activities, the caregiver must attend the activity.

Caregivers must be at least 14 years of age to directly supervise the child(ren).

The caregiver is required to participate with the child in proper clothing and footwear.
