Temporary resident or visitor parking permits may be obtained to provide 24-hour, 48 hour and weekly on-street parking within the limits of a permit parking street or area, provided space is available. This program generally services those residential areas where driveways are not common. (former East York, Etobicoke, North York, Toronto & York).
A City of Toronto 24 & 48-hour, and 7-day temporary parking permit can be purchased online or in-person at your local Permit Parking Office. If you are going in person, call in advance so that you do not come down and find out they are not available in that area.
Temporary parking permits are available online, to purchase and view fees, visit the City of Toronto website. Please review the parking permit terms and conditions prior to purchasing a parking permit as On-street parking permits shall not be issued for campers, camper-trailers, recreational vehicles, motor homes, trailers, boats or other recreational vehicles mounted on trailers.
Note: The temporary permit must be displayed on the vehicle windshield. If obtaining online, ensure that you've printed the temporary permit and that it is displayed on the windshield of the vehicle. If for any reason the permit did not print, or there was a printer jam, etc, you can go back in the system and reprint the permit, there is a reprint feature on the system.
Note: Online temporary parking permits are only issued for 24, 48 hours, and one week period. If you require more time, you must visit the Permit Parking Office. Temporary Parking permits are issued for a maximum of 8 weeks depending on availability. Temporary or guest parking permits are NOT available for Scarborough and North York.
Lost, stolen or misplaced Temporary Parking Permits
If you purchased a permit online but it was lost, stolen or misplaced, you can reprint an existing valid permit online at the city's website.
Yellow permit stickers purchased from the Permit Parking Office that do not display licence plate information cannot be reprinted.
