Team Toronto’s sustained efforts over the holidays has led to enhanced protection against the effects of COVID-19 for thousands of Torontonians. More than 771,000 people have received their third dose – or booster – and 90,900 kids age five to 11, or 43 per cent of eligible Toronto kids, now have their first dose.
From December 23 to 29, Team Toronto administered 195,244 adult doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at sites across the City, including 180,961 eligible adults receiving their third doses, and 4,740 brave five to 11 year-olds rolling up their sleeves to get dose #1.
While Torontonians prepare to ring in a new year, Team Toronto remains focused on getting first, second and third doses into the arms of all who are eligible. Holiday vaccination outreach will continue into the upcoming New Year’s weekend with approximately 14,000 appointments booked from January 1 to 3, 2022.
As new vaccine options open, Toronto Public Health (TPH) will update residents so they can continue to get their vaccines in the New Year. Anyone age 18 or older is eligible for a third dose 84 days following their second dose.
Team Toronto is offering vaccine appointments at City-run clinics, hospital partner clinics, local pharmacies and doctors’ offices, including the following clinic locations operating today:
City-run immunization clinics
The five City-run immunization clinics continue to add new appointments for first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button on Toronto COVID-19 or call 1-833-943-3900. City-run clinics are easily accessible by transit and offer free parking on site. Clinic staff are also able to provide resources in multiple languages. A person with a vaccination appointment can also bring a support person to help with translation.
People with vaccination appointments are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes early to vaccination clinics. There will be vaccine doses available for everyone who has an appointment; arriving earlier than necessary does not impact availability. There are no walk-in appointments at City-run vaccination clinics. Michael Garron Hospital will not be operating any mobile or pop-up clinics on December 31 or January 1, however vaccination opportunities are available at Thorncliffe Park Community Hub Clinic, 45 Overlea Blvd. (appointments booked through the provincial booking system).

To easily connect to resources including vaccine appointment bookings and information on vaccines, Toronto residents can text “VACCINE” to 1-833-750-0888 or 833-750-0888 for more information through the City’s VaxTO program.
Given the emergence of the new Omicron variant and ongoing community transmission of the Delta variant, Toronto Public Health urges all eligible residents to book their third-dose appointment. Residents who have not yet received their first or second COVID-19 vaccine shot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.
Residents should also continue to follow public health measures such as mask wearing, good hand hygiene and physical distancing.
