BodySafe E-Learning Modules

Toronto Public Health’s BodySafe program offers eight free eLearning modules to help personal service setting operators providers adhere to infection prevention and control (IPAC) measures and are designed for operators to understand the minimum requirements outlined in Ontario Regulation 136/18, Personal Service Settings.

IPAC practices play a critical role in preventing infections for clients and operators. From the series of modules below, we recommend you taking the modules in order.

Before You Begin

Follow these instructions and guide to efficiently navigate each E-Learning module:

Clear cache/browser history.
Log into only one browser at a time.
Turn down speakers or use headphones if you are accessing the module in a shared environment.
Answer all quiz questions to ensure you receive your certificate of completion.
There are icons available to “play” each module and “pause” when needed. If you need to revisit a prior section in the E-Learning module look for the icon that reads “Back/Previous”.
Closed Captions can be turned on or off if necessary.
The navigation tool bar can be moved or minimized.

Module 1: Foundations

Defines what constitutes a personal service setting and explains the BodySafe inspection program, in addition to relevant legislation.

Covers the chain of infection and steps to prevent infections.

Module 3: Clean Hands

Emphasizes the importance of hand hygiene (washing and sanitizing) as the most effective measure to prevent infections.

Details appropriate use of gloves, masks, aprons and other personal protective equipment (PPE).

Addresses environmental hygiene, handwashing and reprocessing sinks, and proper disposal of sharps.

Guides on cleaning, disinfecting, and reprocessing tools and surfaces.

Covers the selection and proper use of disinfectant products.
